xxxHolic Predictions
There are so many ongoing storylines with xxxHolic that I decided it would be fun to write about some of my predictions for how each one will wrap up as the series ends. I'm very concious of how annoying it is to have a good CLAMP series ruined for you so have not written anything beyond basic plot info and my own thoughts (which are just my thoughts and nothing more) so you can feel safe in reading this page.
 Watanuki: A lot of things going on with this guy! How did his parents die? Did they have the same ability he did (in the blood remember!), could he be connected to Clow Reed (they both wear glasses). I'm sure these will all be addressed eventually, but the biggest plot point is if Yuko will remove his ability to see ghosts. Now I'm guessing she'll do her part... but it won't turn out the way Watanuki or anyone else suspected. I bet it'll be a play on the words they both spoke when agreeing on the wish that will turn into him sharing the rest of his life with Domeki (possibly sexually, but most likely not) who has the ability to ward off spirits. Yuko may twist it around and explain that their friendship wouldn't have developed the way it has without her sending them on missions together therefore she kept her part of the bargain and kept the spirits away from him.
Another theory of mine is to do with Watanuki's powers growing. It's been obvious for a while now that Yuko has been training Watanuki for something, maybe to take over the shop when she's gone. Watanuki has also built a bit of a reputation for himself in the spirit world as mentioned from several characters throughout the series. With greater powers and respect throught the supernatural community I'm sure the spirits would leave him alone if he so wanted.
Again with this theory, Yuko would have still kept her word.
 APRIL FOOLS!!!: In the very first story arc, Yuko mentions the importance of one's birthday. So what then is the connection between Watanuki, Syaoran and Sakura who all have the same birthday, April 1st?!? Add to this that Sakura is the daughter of Clow Reed, the man who foretold Watanuki and Yuko meeting and Syaoran also having a Clow Reed connection (to complex and spoilery to explain) it really makes you wonder what the Hell is going on here.
What's more, lately Watanuki has developed a similar "condition" to Syaoran, further cementing a link.
 Maru and Moro: Now here's a theory I read a while back in a discussion forum and I was suprised it didn't occur to me before! There are numerous similarities and connections between xxxHolic and Card Captor Sakura with the obvious one being Yuko and Clow Reed. HEAVY CCS SPOILERS! --> Now remember how Clow Reed split his soul in two and reincarnated himself as two certain people, well what if Yuko wanted to do the same should she ever lose her life and who would she want to reincarnate her soul into? Good thing she happens to have two little girls without souls running around the place.<-- END OF CCS SPOILERS Coincidence? Nup, preparation!
 Soel and Larg: So, they're based in the famous god Mokona from Magic Knight Rayearth. The red earing enhances Soel's (the white one) magical abilities and the blue earing supresses Larg's (the black one) magical abilities. Soel's has to be enhanced to travel to other worlds (most likely) but why must Larg's be supressed? The black guy does seem to have a darker side than his brother plus slightly different powers such as the ability to see ghosts, something Soel can't do. Could Larg posses dark powers that could be a danger to others or itself?
A lot of people seem to think that these two new Mokonas must be good just like the original one they're based off... but what if that's one of CLAMP's redherrings? They've already proven to be quite different already, what if there's bigger differences to be revealed?
Something I've been wondering about the Mokonas is if they have a "true form" similar to Keroberos and the pipe fox spirit. Something to think about.
 The Symbols: Those with a good eye would have noticed Fay's tatoo in the magical circle that Yuko and Soel summon when doing magic or traveling to another world, but what about all those other symbols? As with Card Captor Sakura (where the meaning of Sakura's circle actually gets discussed eventually)this circle will also be brought up before xxxHolic or Tsubasa Chronicle have finished. But when, and what will it mean for the characters in each series?
 Himawari: Many of CLAMP's series drop small subtle hints throughout the story that lead to a major revelation near the conclusion. Could Himawari be such a revelation? She's obviously contains some kind of power as seen by her unsealing the Monkey's Paw in Episode 8 and many people. including myself, think she may be more connected to the Angel incident in Episode 3 than she let on. Could she be trying to get Watanuki and Domeki in trouble on purpose or does she posses some power that she is unaware of? Yuko sure knows the answer but she's waiting for Watanuki to find out for himself by the look of things.
There's also her romance with Watanuki that needs some closure before the end of the series. My bets are that he'll end up with the Zashiki Warashi though.
 Zashiki Wrashi: Speaking of the vestal spirit, what'll happen to her? Well besides getting together with Watanuki (though CLAMP could always do a 180 and kill her off) what else could she end up doing?
