The official site has a pic of the first dvd box set coming out soon! You can view it
HERE. This first box will contain a limited edition book and the first DVD which will contain episodes 1 - 4 and with space for three more dvds. There will be a second dvd box set that will be for conataining DVDs 5 - 8 (maybe 9?). Basically, two box sets for season one. Both boxes contain special artwork made by CLAMP exclusively for the boxsets!
The first DVD (which comes with the box set) is due for release on July 26th and
can be preordered HERE and I suggest you do so as the boxes are very limited and will only come with first printings of the first DVD!
In site news, I got the guide to
Episode 9 online. As always, screencaps will be avaliable as soon as the widescreen version of the episode has been released. I know it's a bit uut of order also, but I will be getting back to episodes, 5 - 8 as soon as I have the time to do so. Fear not!
I also added 4 new episode titles to the dry links on the right menu thanks to
Chibi Uuto.

The animation in this episode wasn't as slick as it was in the last few but still rather good and complemented by a rather faithful adaption from the manga source. Here we see the ghost storytelling night with Yuko, Watanuki, Himawari and Domeki as well as Mokona. All happens as it does in the manga, though I think all the ghost stories told were written for the anime. They were well done though and rather creepy.
Something I'm glad they kept was Mokona eating the ghosts at the end which he spits up in the form of a spirit ball to help Syaoran and the gang in
Tsubasa Chronicle Episode 9. A bit strange though that they already had Fay's staff in last week's episode before the item they traded it for was even created. ;) (they trade the spirit ball for Fay's staff). I guess in anime continuity they traded
another spirit ball. ;)
Next week looks like a compination of the valentine's day arc and a new anime only storyline. Curious.

While this episode featured several bits from the manga such as Yuko's heatstroke and the introduction of the pipefox spirit (my personal fave character!) this episode was pretty much entirely unique to the anime and offers some more elaboration on the function of the pinky finger mentioned in
Episode 2.
The story here focuses on a woman who has been dating several men at the same time and taking on different personas when dating each one. I found this ep very fresh as I had no idea what was going to happen! The story wasn't groundbreaking though it was pretty good for one that wasn't taken from the manga series.
I was just so suprised to see the pipefox spirit! Wasn't expecting this little guy to appear at all in this episode!
p.s. Mokona struck me as being particularily masculine this week with his hand movements when asking for sake from Watanuki. The voice actress seems to really be getting the nuances of Soel and Larg down.
p.p.s. Download this episode in Raw

Chibi Yuuto reports that a new ending theme will take over from Reason starting with episode 14 called, Kagerou and will be sung by
BUCK-TICK. This doesn't mean people didn't like Reason. Prod I.G. constantly change the ending themes in their shows several times a season. The new anime, Blood+ is up to it's fourth ending and opening combo now I think.
No news if xxxHolic will be getting a new opening as well. I LOVE
19 Years Old.
Kagerou can be preordered
